Man Dancing On Semi Truck Is Knocked Off, Killed

Truck5

Semi truck accidents can happen in a number of ways. One way a person can get killed is by dancing on one.

Yes, this stupid stunt did actually happen. A man was killed after jumping onto a truck’s trailer, dancing on it, and getting knocked down when the truck went under a bridge. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of November 10 in Houston.

An 18-wheeler was heading south on the Eastex Freeway when a 25-year-old man climbed onto the trailer and began dancing and recording himself. The truck driver was unaware of what was happening.

When the truck passed under the Tuam Street bridge, the man was hit by the bridge. He was knocked off the trailer and landed onto the freeway. The man was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he later died.

Police questioned the truck driver. He was determined to not be intoxicated and was later released.

Dancing on or Next to Cars

While social media has helped people and companies market themselves and communicate with others, it has also caused people to act stupid. Many of the dangerous challenges on Facebook, TikTok, and other social media sites have caused people to seriously injure or even kill themselves.

In 2018, a viral trend made its rounds online. The “Shiggy Dance” had people jumping out of moving cars and dancing in the street to rapper Drake’s hit song, “In My Feelings.” While most of the participants are passengers in the vehicles, others are going to extremes by putting their own car in neutral, having the car roll on down the street, and recording themselves getting out of their car and dancing. Some people have done it while on top of motorcycles.

This challenge, though, is very dangerous, as you can imagine. Many people have gotten injured while attempting it. Some have fallen just while trying to get out of the car while it is in motion.

In any case, the “Shiggy Dance” challenge is dangerous to everyone in the area. Drivers are distracted, passengers can get hit by cars, and pedestrians could get hit by distracted drivers. It takes just a few seconds for a driver to take their eyes off the road and get into a serious crash.

It is unknown if a social media challenge or a dare prompted the man in this case to climb on a truck and dance on it, but it was certainly not a decision made with common sense.
